Helping Others October 17, 2007

I recently had a tough a experience with someone who I was trying to help. She refused my help, and tried to take advantage of my kindness. What can be said for such actions? I look to the words of Daisaku Ikeda for guidance, and I find the following words of wisdom:

“Nothing is wasted in faith. One never loses out. Please be confident that all your efforts to help others and promote Buddhism are accumulating immense treasures of good fortune in your life. This is what is meant by inconspicuous benefit.”

I chanted with these words in mind for several hours and over several days. I also chanted for her happiness to take her away from me and from the other people she was disturbing and hurting. It worked! The negative influence/person has left my life. At least for now…and I am so happy she is gone. I wish her well wherever she finds herself in the future.

Happy World Peace Day October 2, 2007

On this day, 47 years ago, President Ikeda landed in Hawaii on his first trip to the U.S., and outside of Japan. On that day, he began his worldwide efforts for peace, culture and education based on Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism.

To honor this historic day, I share with you a peaceful piece of ambient music from electronic artist, Vic Hennegan. Experience it here.
