I wanted to comment on your post about a Mentor. Shakyamuni's last words were "Rely Upon the Law and not upon person's" . Nichiren also talks about this in his Gosho over and over he admonishes us to Rely on ourselves. There really is not Gosho that says we need a "Mentor" in order to reach enlightenment. We have many friends in faith that will try to help us on our paths, but for me over the years , I have found it very helpful to study, study, study and chant and challenge my life and develop my faith and let that be my teacher. I hope all is well with you! I just wanted to share a benefit that happen to me this week. For a few years I've been on disability and have not worked. Last week a friend of mine told me that where she works there was an opening for a part-time job working in the mental health field. Before I had to stop working, I was working in the medical field. I called about the job, they asked me to come in for an interview and I was hired =). I never thought I would be able to work again! Many thanks to chanting to my gohonzon! Hi Michelle!
